Payment Policy

DIGITEL PRO PAYMENT POLICY

Effective Date: 02 October 2025

This policy outlines the accepted payment methods, terms for Lay-Buy agreements, and procedures for payment processing when purchasing goods from Digitel Pro.

1. ACCEPTED PAYMENT METHODS

We offer a variety of secure payment options to make your purchase as convenient as possible:

  • Credit/Debit Card: We accept major credit and debit cards (Visa, MasterCard) processed through a secure, third-party payment gateway.
  • Instant EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer): Direct payment from your South African bank account.
  • Flexible Payment Options: We support various installment and credit facilities, including PayFlex, Fevertree, and Float. The approval and terms for these options are subject to the specific provider’s terms and conditions, which you must review and accept separately.
  • Cash on Delivery (COD): This option is available only in designated areas within Durban and must be pre-arranged with our agents prior to delivery or collection.

2. CONCLUSION OF SALE AND PAYMENT CONFIRMATION

  • Sale Conclusion: An agreement of sale between you and Digitel Pro only comes into effect when:
    1. You submit a completed order electronically on our Website.
    2. Payment is either authorized by your bank or payment provider (for card/EFT payments), or received by Digitel Pro in its bank account.
  • Stock Reservation: Goods are only reserved for your order once full payment or the required Lay-Buy deposit has been successfully processed. If payment fails or is not completed within a reasonable time (typically 30 minutes for Instant EFT), the goods may be released back into general stock.
  • Payment Security: All online payments are handled by certified, secure third-party payment processors. Digitel Pro does not store your full card details.

3. LAY-BUY AGREEMENT TERMS

We offer a Lay-Buy option to help you budget for your electronics.

  • Lay-Buy Period: Agreements are offered over a period of 3 to 6 months.
  • Deposit: A minimum non-refundable deposit of 40% is required to initiate the Lay-Buy agreement and secure the item.
  • Ownership and Collection: The product remains the property of Digitel Pro until the full purchase price has been paid and all funds have cleared. Once payment is complete, we will arrange for immediate shipment or collection.
  • Cancellation by Customer: Should you wish to cancel the Lay-Buy agreement before the full payment is made, you must notify us in writing. In accordance with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), Digitel Pro is entitled to charge a reasonable cancellation penalty, generally 30%, which will be deducted from the total amount you have paid to date.
  • Cancellation by Digitel Pro: We reserve the right to cancel the Lay-Buy agreement if you fail to make a scheduled payment within 30 days of the due date. In such an event, the cancellation penalty will apply.

4. PRICE ERRORS AND DISCREPANCIES

While we take all reasonable steps to ensure accurate pricing, errors may occasionally occur.

  • Correction of Errors: If the correct price of a product is higher than the price stated on the Website, we will contact you before dispatching the product to allow you the option of paying the difference or cancelling the order for a full refund.
  • Binding Price: Digitel Pro is not bound by a price that is obviously or clearly an inadvertent error or mistake (a “bona fide error”). In such cases, we reserve the right to cancel the order and issue a full refund immediately.

5. REFUND PROCESSING

Refunds for returns, cancellations, or stock unavailability will be processed as follows:

  • Method: Refunds are processed electronically via EFT to a South African bank account nominated by you or, where possible, a reversal of the credit card transaction.
  • Timing: Due to banking and administrative processes, refunds may take 10 to 14 working days from the time the refund is approved to reflect in your account.
  • Deductions: All refunds are subject to deductions for any applicable restocking fees, cancellation penalties (for Lay-Buys), or original shipping charges (for non-defective returns), as detailed in our Returns and Warranty Policy.
